a week has passed
when I took my green trousers from the clothesline today
(I didn’t wear them a lot in Elsewhere but enough to get them pretty dirty)
a delete key fell from its pocket
I found this guy at the bottom of the stairs. It is an elephant hawk. I don't know a lot about butterflies and caterpillars but when I was 10 or 12 years old I found a whole bunch of them next to my parents house. I reported it to the IVN (Association for Environmental Education) and even made the local newspaper.
I haven't seen any recently but here I am, just having sewed myself in a cocoonlike skin and I find this creature, almost ready to pupate.
Elsewhere is a magical place.
I don't know how he (she?) got here. There's nothing he eats in the near area. I know because I've been trying to find him some food. He's picky. Evening primrose, fuchsia or willowherb. He eats grape leaves but he gets constipated when he eats them. I hope he survives. He will turn into a beautiful pink moth.
